The Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame presents the induction of Benny Spellman. Benny suffered a major stroke in the early 1990s and remains under care today. LMHOF inductee and board member, Deacon John of New Orleans, assisted Executive Director Mike Shepherd with the induction, then performed Benny's hits Fortune Teller and Lipstick Traces (on which he played and sang backup originally) with Benny. An amazing day of remembrance for all.

  • this is great

  • This video is so precious. May God bless Deacon John for making sure that Benny Spellman got inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame before he passed away. Being President of the musician's union is so key for Deacon John because he is so caring and he makes sure these special and so well deserved things happen! God bless you, Deacon John Moore! And may Benny Spellman R.I.P. I will ALWAYS remember his singing on, "MOTHER IN LAW" ... such a classic song!

  • @swingrfd I was a teenager on the north east coast of the U.S. and will also always remember Benny Spellman. He was a class act and I loved his music! May he R.I.P. Also may God bless Deacon John Moore for his gentleness, kindness, warmth, compassion, as well as his talent. He is a true representative of the musicians of New Orleans as President of the New Orleans Musicians Union. I am sure he personally saw to it that this award was given to Benny during his time still on this earth.
