Does the gear that is connected to the crankshaft turn the box assembly, or the axle that the wheels are on?

good stuff!but i got a question,are the three mechanism differents in something?because i noticed at the first and at the third one, the four inner gears don't move at all...

it's exactly the same, all three. the difference is that the 1st 'car' is driving straight, the 2d takes a small turn left, and the 3d is making a hard turn left. the driver of the car desides.

@eoqazzaq Mecano the "toy" displayed or animated only cost a few bucks pr set ;) remember playing alot with it when i was a kid.. ;) loved it, and still do..
