===== PLEASE READ: =====
I know it was a little too slow, and I know I screwed up in a couple places. You don't have to be the hundredth person to tell me that in a comment. If that's all you have to say, don't bother, it's been said.
=======================

This is my version of He's a Pirate, from "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl". Well, it's not really MY version, so much as it is my performance. It's different than the majority of the versions on YouTube, because this is the actual Disney version, rather than the Piano-Themes.com version. Which I'm not saying is good or bad or anything, but mine is a little more detailed.

I've known it for awhile, it just took me forever to get it up. This is more of an accurate demonstration of my skills (as opposed to some of the other piano videos I've posted), but as usual I can never perform quite at my best in front of a camera. I urge you to look past the hiccups at 1:20 and 1:30... Still, it's pretty decent, so I hope you enjoy it.

I realize it's a little slow, but this version wasn't meant to be as fast as others, and I think it sounds good slowly and steadily like this. For anyone wondering, it was written in 6/8 time, which really comes out when I play it slowly like this. For anyone who can't see that, for the most part, the bass notes are hit every one-and-a-half beats (eighth notes) and the melody is based on eighth notes.

(By the way, yes, I'm wearing a button-down shirt... It's my school's dress code and I was to lazy to change...)

  • hey we all make mistakes! don't worry i couldn't notice them that well. i have just started learning this. any tips?

  • Thanks! As for tips, I guess more than anything, be sure to learn it slowly first, then build up speed later. The time feel is key, so get that down first, even if it means going excruciatingly slowly. Be sure you can keep a steady beat in the left hand. After that, everything else can kinda fall into place around it. Good luck!

  • u´re really good! 5 stars :D

    ... yeahh, I used to play this on piano too, but I´ve forgotten EVERYTHING. sad. :(

    anyways, u have a talent!

  • I've forgotten most of it too. I could probably still play it with the music, though. Anyway, thanks!

    Best part of the song. You messed up a bit, but you did fairly well.

  • Yeah, that's definitely a favorite of mine.
