I took a selection of several songs and decided to remix them for older consoles, specifically the Atari 2600, Game Boy, and Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Yeah, I know I overdid it with the Trainer Battle, but I like that song a bit. All songs fully comply with the abilities of the consoles they are based on, with the exception of the Trainer Battle for the Atari 2600. I'm not quite sure that it matches the console's abilities.

OK. Now to explain myself. I'll start with the A2600 one. I made it with QBasic for DOS using the PLAY command. I compiled it to an EXE and used WavePad to record the sound.

Second, I created two MIDIs for the Game Boy ones. I then set it up with a NES/Game Boy SoundFont using SynthFont. Piece of cake, because there is a button to mixdown the song.

Now, by far the hardest to do were the three SNES ones. I actually had to strip down several MIDIs, convert them to a special text format, and use AddMusic to import them to a Super Mario World ROM. Then, I had to use an emulator (ZSNES) to dump the SPC file. Finally, I used Winamp to convert it to a WAV.

The 2600 actually has 2 sound channels and it would have been cool if you had used both of them simultaneously. Awesome work nonetheless though!

Did you go to Dafont for the fonts? I go there all the time, and thats called Super Mario (i think)

A recommendation. You might want to consider using a game like "Smart Ball" or "Jerry Boy 2" for the SNES soundfont, as both games are done by GameFreak and might be a closer sound set. Same goes with Game Boy, it might have been better to use Gen 1 or Gen 2's sound sets.

Sounds like the Sound from OLD Pokemon games like the YELLOW/BLUE/RED versions...... Great job ;) I like the violin/Flute sounds Niiiiiiiice xD
