  • I heard the orchestra 1984 in Accra during rehearsals, conducted by Nana Danso Abiam. He studied contemporary western composition and reflected it for African New Music. I saw him conducting two different timelines with independent complicated rhythms, slowly running asynchronous and reunite. Mindblowing! Magicians of rhythm, digesting influences of german and other orchestral „Neue Musik”.They have to play a bit „folkloristic” here, to survive. Better funding and they would sparkle.

  • This is a good collage of Ghana's musical traditions, the sparse northern sahel meets the lush southern forests :)

  • Soon the African Mozart will come, and write a whole symphony like this.

  • Great video, but i don't understand why you didn't simply upload the video you were playing through windows media player onto youtube instead of recording it with your camera and then putting it onto youtube. You would have had much better quality and would have saved time.
