@avajoyce you are freakin retarded!!! an invasive species destroys crops and the local environment eventually causing disease and starvation among other species!!!! hunters are actually helping these animals!!!
@avajoyce continued: They destroy farmers' crops tp the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars a year. In one night they can completely destroy a field and bankrupt the farmer.
And ironically, that is food that was being grown for many...guess who...VEGETARIANS!
So it is hunters who protect your food sources; please keep that in mind, and thank a hunter sometime. If not for us, your dinner plate could be empty, or cost 5x as much as it does now (to make up for the losses).
@avajoyce OK, let me explain then: Pigs are not native to this continent; they were released in the 1500's by the Spaniards. As such, they have very few natural predators to keep their numbers in check, they breed like rabbits, and they run completely amok; destroying the ecosystem by their rooting habits, and preying upon many native species that have no natural defense against them. They basically are destroyers of this ecosystem, b/c they did not evolve here & are not in balance w/ it...
@avajoyce. It must have been a while ago that I posted to a reply.
But lets progress. #1 You CAN'T insult me for you are not of any importance to me.
#2 Who cares if you like or dislike hunting? It has taken place for thousand of years before you and will continue forevermore, weather you approve or not.
#3 If you have never hunted, and don't plan to, you will never understand shooting, hunting, or killing an animal for food.
Why waste your time and breath writing to thoses of us that do?
@netravler1 No, I have never been hunting. Nor will I. If you are implying that I would find it FUN if I'd just give it a try, then you're sadly mistaken. I really don't have a problem with hunting per se, if it's for food. When it's for FUN and trophies, I begin to wonder why a grown man finds a sense of accomplishment in shooting and killing something that can't shoot back.
I apologize for insulting your manhood online. I'm sure you have quite enough of that already.
@Scrap5000 No, I am not incapable of understanding it. Are you incapable of explaining it? I asked you what YOU mean by "invasive species". What exactly is it that they do to deserve that label?
i just did some research and it does appear to still be open which confuses me because i got my info from a very solid source.... unless it was a thought and they decided to sell alot of the exotics off or something
@Scrap5000 as of this past deer season they were, or atleast thats what i was told and what the papers had on there head lines..... but i have been wrong before
@smethpatches sorry that was aimed at the vegitarian idiot.
