mr waterman do you remember something you went out to buy an LP and your mate liked it and you made a cassette to give to him...well thats the same thing....BUT you do have to apy for live music but many cannot play live, in the old days there was only live music and you paid an admission to see and hear it

@daveeeed Spoken like a man who knows fuck all.

@healhurt I've no respect for shit!

@donnyab I agree.... years ago the industry could have made CDs from metal, so they'd be virtually indestructable and last for decades and decades. But the greedy bastards wanted disposable plastic that corrupts, so they could sell the same thing over and over. They have made their own fetid bed of corruption, a-la Tracy Emin stylee, and the chickens have come home to roost for them. 'Continue to contaminate your bed, and you will drown in your own waste' - Music industry writ large..

@Corrupt5358 shows how out of touch he is

@Corrupt5358 Sorry you have no respect for dance music, dance pop, in the Motown and Philly tradition!

it's good that people get music for free, cos record producers always make a massively disproportionate amount compared to what the artists, and what they should get. so the record producers get less and so will the artists. i have more sympathy with the artists. i agree with corrupt that radio shoves crap in our ears and if you want to look at it this way, he gets his exposure for 'free' or cheaply.

There is so many things wrong with what he is saying i could write a book on it. You don't get asprin for free you have to pay for them... yeh... well i didn't even ask for Rick Astley but i got it rammed down my throat on the radio, I'd prefer to never have heard it. He should pay ME, for making me suffer his crappy music, I couldn't escape it. As for having to pay for it... has he forgot the radio cassette recorder - when he's constantly forcing his music on you via the radio?

What this guy sold us not "gave us" was a pile of shit, the only point being to make money. How he got away with it is a mystery, I just hope he dies a horrible death.

I love this guy because he gave us so much great music. I was 15 in 1988 and I was dancing all year long to his music (produced together with Mike Stock and Matt Aitken).
But I think he is like Don Quijote now. Fighting against mills.
