Viscoelastic memory foam material was originally designed by NASA for use in space, but after NASA abandoned it, Fagerdala World Foams, a Swedish technical foam firm, picked up the idea and made it into a mattress.

A company called Tempur-Pedic was founded in 1992 by Robert B. Trussell, Jr. after he was introduced to the viscoelastic mattress concept by Swedish entrepreneurs and fellow thoroughbred horse racing enthusiasts. Tempur is the trademark name for Tempur-Pedic's foam material. since then other comapnies have tried establishing themselves as competitors but none have come as close as Ergoflex.

Pretty helpful review though. I didn't know that if you spilt anything on it, that it's just completely RUINED? Why is that I wonder?

And how comes that can make this soft, fire resistant, cool, etc. But if your Child has an accident.. Thats it!

@therealKINDLE You can get waterproof coverings but they make a noise as you roll around. Semi waterproof things are good and cotton like. For kids I would recommend a pocket sprung mattress for accidents

If it's not made by a British manufacturer is the mattress European sizes (like Ikea's mattresses) instead of British sizes? Could make finding bed linen tricky.
