Brian's Story -
Brian was an active 27 year-old. He was an athlete in good shape. He visited the Lovelace emergency room with complaints of chest pain and shortness of breath. All the usual tests showed that he was OK. But he was not OK. Brian was in need of a new aortic valve and was informed by his cardiologist that and aneurism was developing in his aortic root, which was threatening to burst. If his cardiologist had not recommended open-heart surgery, he might have died in a matter of weeks. Instead, Brian is alive and well and eager to share his story.
