@truth96130 Yes, I prefer the term "correction and refinement" too. "Punishment" sounds too much like "retributive "justice" to me. God's justice is salvific, it's not the retributive "justice" of the Roman law court. The Roman catholic church is mostly responsible for the angry judge false image of God and the whole penal "justice" system. There's so much pagan bullshit in the churches. They think they know God but they really don't. 1 Corinthians chapter 13: "Love keeps no record of wrongs"...

@MrPaulryan76 All credits to God, I'm not that smart. I received that revelation 12 months after I had been led to UR by Jesus. I was pretty depressed about a lot of stuff and that comforted me because it made perfect sense in light of what I had learned from Him during those 12 months. Maybe if I had listened to Him more often, I would've learned that sooner. Or maybe it was His perfect timing once again. I don't know. I ain't Him...

@MrPaulryan76 Only believers have died the second death. Unbelievers are still still in the first death. All people are born spiritually dead (sin nature/old man). Those who have not died the second death (spiritual) that undo the first death (spiritual), who have not passed from death unto life are still in the first death. Since all unbelievers die the second death (see book of Revelation) and all believers were once unbelievers, then all mankind will be saved.

@MrPaulryan76 You're mistaken dude. The second death is not separation from God. It's being born again. It's being dead to sin and alive to Christ (death/crucifixion of the sin nature/old man). There is a first birth (physical) and a second birth (spiritual). There is a first death (physical) and a second death (spiritual). The second death (spiritual) undo the first death (spiritual) (passing from death unto life). It's being born again and alive to Christ. It's being a new creature in Christ.

@higherground2050 John 3/18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already...
Rev.3/17 You (those that do not believe) say, 'I'm rich. I'm wealthy. I don't need anything.' Yet, you do not realize that you are miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. That sounds like perishing to me.

Jn 3:16 "perish" means simply that. To cease to be alive, not tormented/alive. "everlasting life is incorrectly mistranslated from aion life, which means age abiding life. Jn 3:16 is only speaking of THIS LIFE TIME, i.e. "perish", aion life. The first lie ever told is still being told today, "you shall not surely die." cause they say they are being tormented, therefore you MUST be ALIVE to be tormented. HOW LONG must this lie of hell be told???
i think many unbelievers are currently facing the second death (man separation from God) here on earth. Second death does not mean annihilation or die a second time after first death (spirit from body). All spirits goes back to God in heaven or paradise while the body goes back to the dust in Sheol. Those who didn't believe in Christ will be outside the city with all other sinners and unbelievers and not burning forever in this so called hell.

@MrPaulryan76 Well said. Peace.

I LOOK AT IT THIS WAY, 99% OF THE WORLD HAS TO BE PUNISHED BY GOING THROUGH RED TAPING BEFORE ENTERING THE KINGDOM OF GOD. JUST LIKE GOING THROUGH RED TAPING BEFORE REACHING OUR GOAL HERE ON EARTH.

@MrPaulryan76 I see what you mean. However I would call it a process of correction and refinement.This correction and refinement is known as the figurative-lake of fire.
Peace.
