Well it started raining heavily and I thought it would be a good guage of how good the camera on my phone is, to see if it could pick up the raindrops.

Conclusion? Well, let's be honest, the camera isn't great. It's clearly not even shooting true 720p which is what it's spec'd at and has horrific colour reproduction. I didn't buy the phone for it's camera, but I will get some use out of it. Decent pictures can be taken with it but only in ideal light conditions, if you are shooting in the dark at something that is green, the light will bounce back (presumably because the flash is badly timed) and really heavily increase the amount of green in the photo.

The camera is more than adequate for casual videos or capturing something on the street, but if you're that kind of person who wants to record alot of videos then I'd seriously consider saving more, and getting a phone with a good camera. Such as a Samsung Galaxy SII if you can still get one, if you can't I guess the other option is the Apple iPhone 4. They both shoot what could be regarded as true HD, but in actuality it is slightly grainier than you would want to see.

It shoots to 720p but I have a feeling the camera is a much lower resolution.
