Events chronicled in this movie are based on actual crimes and events chronicled in Scotland Yardís Black Museum. Martin Scorsese was instrumental in having a print of Horrors of the Black Museum donated to New Yorkís Museum of Modern Art. I remember seeing the beginning of this movie only ONCE on tv as a kid. The binoculars scene was all I needed to see. The sight of the woman screaming and covering her eyes with blood running down from between her fingers traumatized me instantly. I never forgot it. EVER.

Scary? Yes but a good one to see again, someday, when it's finally shown again somewhere. But I have one scarier than this one: Strait Jacket with Joan Crawford.

Same goes for me dub. Somehow I ended up seeing it TWICE -- the second time was a mistake -- and the nighmares were intensified. Kids should NOT have been allowed to see this movie!!  Especially because of that scene. An evil movie.

i saw this many years ago and remember a lot of the scenes vividly...like when the assistant goes mental...since a movie is supposed to affect you one way or the other...must be a good one..never forgot it
