This is an NOS Fender blues Jr. that was sent in for the Fargen hot mods upgrade. This amp now has the Fargen custom shop super sustain package which includes a special recipe of custom caps and resistors as well as a new Mercury Magnetics output transformer. I also added an adjustable presence control, adjustable bias control and clean boost mod via a switch.

  • @TRICKYRJB sounds like the coupling caps still have the original values - way too small...

  • Does this mod increase output levels?

  • why did you demo the amp through a 4x12 cab? i bought a blues jr 'cause it's portable and sounds good. i want to hear your mod with the stock speaker.

  • Not a thing, if you are looking for a certain sound, resistors and caps will get you there at a tenth of the cost.Save your money for some good tubes.

  • Ben, It would be nice to hear single coils through the amp, and also with a 112. Just to get an accurate picture.

  • I agree, the clean sounded good but that was about it. Check out SDG amps, I was really impressed.

  • I just bought a Blues Junior Texas Red today and it sounds pretty doggone good stock with no mods. I bet if I ran it through my Marshall 4X12 with Greenbacks or my Avatar 4X12 with Vintage 30's and G12T-75's in X pattern it would sound killer too as compared to the Celestion Vintage 30 that's in it. Looks like everybody and their brother mods these amps.

  • so, do you sell these as kits or do you have to take your amp to be serviced?

  • it's just higher quality. If you did nothing else but swap the transformer you'd notice the amp come alive beneath your fingers.
