And who are you to decide what people NEED to be "convinced" of ANYTHING? Let people make up their own minds on what to believe. No one's trying to convince anyone of anything. As for solid factual information; maybe you should review the history books for the last 100 years and find plenty of evidence of propaganda and manufacturing of consent to serve an agenda. No conspiracy theory or tin foil hat required! I was merely stating the origin of the word Government which to me is disturbing enough.

@glideandswerve That means it's the mind of governance, not to govern the mind necessarily. Just like how Establish-ment means the state of mind in establishing, not establishing the mind.

There's no doubt the government is corrupted but most tend to be confused by conspiracy theories more than the real facts itself. No need to draw theories from the word "government" though.. other people will just mark you as a tin-foil hat guy if you don't have any solid factual information.

“Govern” is from Latin meaning “control”, and “ment” is from Latin meaning “mind”.

Mind control. And in most, if not all governing hierarchies, propoganda and manufacturing consent of the population – often in pursuit of hidden agendas – is of paramount importance to self-serving politicians.
