This is a scene Blackadder II, an old British comedy series set in Tudor England during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. Blackadder was played by Rowan Atkinson, who most people will know as Mr Bean.

In this scene, Blackadder has returned from a voyage of exploration with the hope of impressing the Queen and winning her affections. Unfortunately the gifts he offers her weren't quite up to scratch and besides the Queen has gone off explorers.

Miranda Richardson was memorable as Queen Elizabeth, she was utterly amazing and very witty too with her tantrums and bad tempers.

  • this is sick !!!

  • "Nursie's got her beard, I've got my stick: what about the two boys?"

I love that line, although I'm not entirely sure why. I think it's mainly to do with Richardson's delivery. Brilliant, anyway.
