I was born in Cleveland in '57 and grew up on the East Side. I still have nightmares about that place. It's like something in the DNA I cannot extract. Greetings from France, where I can at least get healthcare and some actual culture.

you have no idea how close you were to my old house! xD

Cleveland used to boast a population of over 1 million people back in the 70's, but the city is just so bad now

yea i knew someone who used to live on 91st and detroit and thats a pretty rough street and it gets worse as u keep going down in numbers... pretty much the same thing throughout the whole west side and on the east side it gets worse as u go up in numbers. there is alot of houses to be fixed up in this damn city! lol but i still love it.
euclid isnt that bad of a nieghbohood but still kinda rough. just stay away from st clair ave and superior ave cuz thats the worst pat of the east side... worst part of cleveland period. unless u wanna check it out. and detroit ave and madison ave are the bad parts of the west side just to give you a heads up if u ever come back to cleveland... MY HOME TOWN!!!! :P

detroit and madison ave bad? Through Lakewood they seem nice. I imagine around w. 80 it could get pretty sketchy. We drove down e. 149 just north of rt 2 and you couldn't pay me to walk down that street. Too bad there is a major housing project (w.25 & rt.2) or I'd feel safer hanging out at the market section. The university circle area has a very cool urban vibe. But still close to the roughest gettos. My favorite neighborhood is the streets north of Fairmount west of Warrensville Ctr Rd
