  • RaymondTVinyl: I heard this once on

Dr. Demento and thought this one of the funniest spoofs ever. "Yeah dig it babyeh." Classic!!!! Thanx man.

  • Thanks Tony! It is a riot! Very strange record. :-)

  • I have a DJ copy of this record - but I no longer have a record player ! Thanks for posting.

  • That's awesome. Keep it. You never know when a player will show up in your travels and you'll want to listen to it again. Glad U enjoyed the vid!!

  • The "DJ" isn't Mel Blanc, is it? or Stan Freeburg?

  • Hi there..I'm told it's the New York DJ, Murry the K. Glad U liked it!!

  • I remember that! What a hoot!

  • I remember hearing this on the radio briefly in March 1967. I did not understand the name "Gorky" or "Gorki", but now I think I understand. About a year and a half later, I met someone who had a dog whose name I thought at first was Corky, a typical dog type of name but he corrected me; the dog's name was Gorky, possibly spelled Gorki, which had some kind of Russian literary meaning.

  • This was a complete take off on America's Top-40 stations of the time and it was Ed Labunski doing the announcing. This was too kewl. The jingles are a take off of PAMS Series 29 (Go Go) If''n ya want to hear the real ones, go to pams of dallas and choose 60's jingles samplers also many djs and airchecks from that era on northeast airchecks Have Fun!

  • Raymond - good post. Classic parody. This is right behind Spencer & Spencer's Russian parody. Both have awesome production elements!

  • Classic. Even the poor audio quality is as it should be for Radio Moscow of that time frame. Dr. Demento played this, and Spencer/Spencer's Russian Bandstand, featuring Dickey Goodman.

  • Can you download a better copy?? Thanks John

  • Those who don't remember the cold war, and those who have no idea what American rock stations of the 60s were like. The were just like this, only the bands were the Seekers not shriekers, Blues Magoos not red magoos, and 4 seasons not 4 treasons, although the 4 treasons sounded a lot like old Frankie Vallie to me, What was the spoof on Sonny and Cher here? Sergei and Sonia? Too funny.

  • I have a copy of this also..I think I will post a copy with better audio quality (LOL)

Some of this stuff is lost with people in their teens through forties, who don't really remember the "cold war"..

    RIP Georgie Girl (Lynn Redgrave)!

  • The real fun part is for anybody who had listened to the real Radio Moscow of the 60's. Boring...Dull...Dismal. (It was as much fun as watching paint dry)
