I made this for my dad to keep his story alive for others. He served with the 1st Cav of the United States Army. He was in the Korea War and also went to Japan. Later he was a photographer for John Deere in Moline.

  • God Bless America!

  • Thank you, we are so blessed to live here and God Bless our troops. I am very proud to have a Dad that served in the Army, and for our freedom.

  • I'm a "gulf War" Veteran, (both) of them. You did your Dad a great survice. I salute you Sir. CWO D. Prator U.S. Army Retired

  • Thank you very much for your comments. I did this because my dad has cancer, and when I have children, I want them to know his story and be proud of all Veterans of the United States. I hope more veterans will share their story with all of us. All they need is someone to video tape them. If you ever make a recording of yourself, please let me know. Have a great day.

  • Thank you. As Korean American if it wasn't for individuals like your father and their sacrifices I would not here.

  • is this the crest theatre in sacramento california? And i really do thank your grandfather's service; who knows where i'd be if it were for people like your gramps.

  • i thank this man for serving like my grandpa and great uncle in the korean war

  • wow. so little is known about this war. probably because it was so soon after ww2

  • So sorry to hear that your dad has cancer...I did not read that until just now...I hope he wins the battle...peace and blue skies.

  • At the start of the war the military was not the same military seen in WWII. It was an occupation force, under supplied, massive cuts in defense spending, not enough attention spent to combat exercises. Part of this was the general belief that the atomic bomb rendered such massive fighting unlikely as Gen. Omar Bradley stated to congress in 1949 when he said an amphibious landing of the D-day type was a thing of the past. Boy was he wrong.

  • I only recently looked in to this conflict, being English it wasn't a war we were heavily involved in. I was working with a guy who's 75 and he just started talking about it. He burst in to tears and kept saying "have you ever seen women and children burning?" He said it was the first time he'd ever spoken about it, I guess it needed to come out. I've never seen such anguish in a human being - the things these people had to see and go through humbles me.

  • These men individually are hros no doubt, they served their people and they humble me in the lengths they have gone to serve their countries, i have unlimited respect for them :) thank you interesting video!

  • truly an epic vid well done it shows the more human personal side of the people
