Bicycling advocates at Anacostia Riverwalk Trail dedication

Among the crowd on hand to dedicate a new section of the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail at Bladensburg Waterfront Park was a group representing some key bicycling organizations:
- International Mountain Bicycling Association: http://www.imba.com
- MidAtlantic Off Road Enthusiasts: http://more-mtb.org/
- Bike Maryland: http://bikemd.org/
The group was able to meet and ride with a number of important officials including Maryland Governor O'Malley, US Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, US Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, Washington DC Mayor Vincent Gray, and US Senator Ben Cardin.
The Anacostia Riverwalk connects sixteen different waterfront neighborhoods in DC to each other and to many communities in Maryland.

The Riverwalk is an excellent example of how communities, citizen groups and government agencies can work together to create something special and worthwhile.
