Don't know if this was mentioned yet, but this is from one of the pilot episodes for the show "Next!" which was never picked up. I think there were 2 episodes, might be wrong, but you should be able to find 'em all online!

I'm pretty sure that's a live audience. I'm not sure if you've ever seen Mr. Show but they actually perform in front of a live studio audience
