  • i feel ya man. had the same thing happen to me. drove it 5 yrs with no damage the i decided to paint it myself. spent 6 weeks getting the bodywork done and painted it then that very next weekend my hood fly's up. hood looked like a U shape, cowl was worse that yours and 2 dents in the roof. needless to say i was severely pissed after working my ass off on it lol

  • The wind caught mine at 45mph, it stood straight up. I learned the hard way to just let the hood drop when closing instead of setting it down lightly and just pressing it down. It also had no safety latch, it was held with just the release. Live and learn, the car is now with a new owner, I just didn't have the reserves to fix it up.

    Of course, I've heard of people not putting in pins on their hoods and they flew off anyway...
