Most professional gunsmiths use a vise and punch... very similar to this method. Most of those sight tools are a joke and often they damage your gun and/or your new sights.
If you're worried about "pounding" on your slide... you must not shoot much. Because your slide "pounds" back and forth as your gun cycles... not to mention the combustion taking place inside.

There is a compression tool to remove/install the rear sight, I'd never pound muh slide like that to save a few bucks.

my front sights on my G21 are not screwed on, it appears to have a couple wedges, can you enlighten me on this?

your an idiot...buy a 20 dollar vice....use a BRASS punch so you dont damage the finish

can anyone with a glock 17 tell me the length and diameter of the recoil spring guide rod thing? I wanna buy one of those lasersight/guiderod things for my airsoft glock but I can only find ones for real guns, pretty expensive too.

Good video... however I cringe when I don't see the punch or the hammer head covered with a piece of cloth (helps avoid scratching). Good vids but bad hat, haha
