We are seeing food riots and children starve to death because of bio fuels. World food bank reports most of basic food stuff cost increases are due to stupid bio fuel programs sold to public under the idea of being green and political correct. You are only burning the starch in corn which people and cattle don't need. There is enough leftovers to feed fish and make protein for about 2 billion people off of 80 million acres of corn.

growing cattails on marginal land using primary treated sewage can yield 50 billion gallons of ethanol and 100 billion gallons of methane net off of 20 million acres, which is NOT prime farmland, and only comprises 3/4 of one percent of all land in the U.S.

Ethanol can be the answer, it depends on how wisely one designs the process.

Commodity markets are far more sensitive to supply changes than the input energy costs. Paying $100 to transport 10 tons of food with market prices $20 per bushel means even 50% increase in fuel to $150 = 10 tons = 400 bushels of wheat and extra $50 spread over 400 = 50/400 = .12 cents increase. World food bank is correct that MOST recent food price increases are not energy but stupid green socialist bio fuel programs that caused huge increase in basic food prices and resulting starving children

Comparing production of spirits with government mandated subsides for billions of tons of food burned in cars is insane. In Germany the cost of beer has risen mainly due to huge amounts of foodstuffs being used for ethanol and same for durum wheat in Italy (causing price of pasta to rise). One tank of ethanol can feed a family of 4 for one year. You stupid greens and socialists support polices that create food riots and starving children and everything you touch turns into one giant crap hole.

What do you mean this does not make sense? We see food riots appearing around the world and we not had this type of problem for many years. The World Food Bank attributes MOST of this starvation due to increased food prices due to burning billions of tons of food in cars and thus the result is children starving around the world. As Beck said a drunken rodeo clown can figure out how spectacular stupid it is to burn such huge amounts of food in cars when people are starving.
