Aptera left the competition penniless after the rules were, erm, 'adapted' to ensure they couldn't win.

Funnily enough, they were the only team with a production ready car.

The winner, Edison, has no plans to produce their car, and (incidentally) it ran on a Yamaha ICE.

Seen the ads for this thing. Cut the cost. I can buy a sub compact for less and still pay for the gas to drive it for the next ten years for $25,000. CUT THE COST sell more and still make money while saving the world.

@JasonTyberiusKirk 30-year-old nuclear plants are dangerous; modern ones are safe. Problem is that nobody (not even Japan, to their sorrow!) has the political will to modernize and replace instead of just keeping the old plants running... which is eventually going to mean more disasters down the line. In any event -- electric vehicles mean that you don't need to improve or replace every car on the road to improve efficiency or cut pollution, as you can improve just the centralized power plants.
