It's already an Internet giant. Today, Google made its move into the lucrative(a.賺錢的) world of mobile phones. Meet the G1, launched(v.啟動) over the Internet, and the first phone to use the interface(n.介面) created by Google known as Android. It's been marketed(v.銷售) as the first of the same accesses(n.使用) to the Internet as the computer on your desk.

The G1 is the latest(a.最新的) evolution(n.進化) in the mobile phone revolution(n.革命). In the 1980s, phones started off(開始) in cars, too big to carry around(adv.四處). They were used simply to make and receive calls. New generation(n.代[=30年]) phones are used for so much more, texting(v.發簡訊), e-mailing, and accessing(v.使用) the Internet. And this is the market the G1 is challenging, offering, it says, anyone the opportunity to create an access to different applications(n.應用) on their phone. The rest(其餘者) of the mobile phone industry will be watching closely(adv.密切地) to see whether Google can be king of the Internet and king of the phone world too.
