A documentary by Jeff Imig. Brutal exploitation of farmworkers, including slavery and indentured servitude, continues to plague thousands in the fields and groves of south Florida. The Coalition of Immokalee Workers struggles to build solidarity and fight back against the abuses. Immokalee shows this struggle and examines how the Coalition has been so successful through its three-pronged effort of organizing in the fields, education and broad community solidarity.

  • C.I.W. is not only making florida produce less marketable they are drawing the federal governments attention and in doing that immigration laws like e-verify that ran all migrant workers out of alabama arizona and georgia are becoming more and more popular and the more they are discussed the more states are going to adopt the idea. CIW started off with a good hearted message and were a refuge for a very small number of violent case victoms but in thirteen years 5 cases of "slavery"
