Guys, its a "safety stunt" done by one of the big mining companies in Australia. Basically every couple of months they strip a (retired) 4wd down and run over it so people know what the end result will be.

PS: some said why do they take parts out. basically, the trucks have a life span based on "hours run" not kilometers, and they replace the parts continually until they reach the end of their lifetime. Hypothetically the engine might be young.

I saw that happen to a 3mo old Pontiac at the tank range in Ft Benning. The Lt who owned the car was pretty upset - especially after the range commander told him it was his own damn fault for not parking in the designated area.
