  • excellent interview

  • The joining of the media and the military ... CFR

  • Gen. McChrystal’s legacy was also tarnished by the use of torture by JSOC forces under his command. It’s worth noting Senator Russ Feingold “oppose[d] the nomination of LTG Stanley McChrystal” as Afghan War commander because because his testimony concerning interrogation “appears incomplete, at best.” [Congressional Record, 6-11-09 (S6537 – S6538].

For details, see. p. 29+ of “The Emperor’s General” and p. 118 - 121 of “The [Untold] Tillman Story” posted at the feralfirefighter blog.

  • Tom Brokaw in his fawning hagiographic introduction (e.g. “… the greatest warrior this country has…”) failed to mention the shadow of Gen. McChrystal’s legacy. McChrystal' has never told the truth about his central role in the Army’s cover-up of Pat Tillman’s 2004 friendly-fire death.

For details, see p. 112+ of “The [Untold] Tillman Story”, the chapter “The Emperor’s General” in the post “Jon Krakauer’s Credibility Problem”, etc. at the feralfirefighter blog.
