A Language of Space

Based on the studies of Edward T. Hall's "The Hidden Dimension" as well as Goffman's "The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life" I set out to conduct my own research on human behavior.

Over the course of 4 months I observed human interaction in one specific location, at a specific time and date, every week. Over the course of my research I became accustomed to seeing the same faces week in and week out. I came to notice trends in behavior, but never was able to find out the reasons behind the trends, because that would require discussion with the subjects which would compromise the research.

The following film is a dramatic, imaginary confrontation between myself and one of the subjects.

Special thanks to Dana Morris.

  • what lenses did you guys use?

  • The majority of it was shot with just a Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens!

  • Brilliant!

  • Thank you much. I downloaded Here. My Explosion... this weekend! Now THAT was brilliant!

  • I feel Punk'd that it wasn't Clark Park. Narration reminds me of King Missle song about Jesus.

  • All the Philly peeps are killing me on the Clark Park narration. IT WAS A POOR SUBSTITUTE! I ADMIT IT! hahaha.

  • I was down at the bottom in 1991, wife split and barely enough to pay the mortgage. Had to quit drinking beer for a week.
