"That Girl" Pilot plus first episode with commentary

This is the pilot episode immediately followed by the original first episode.

I watched this as a teenager, I remember during each episode always thinking this would be the episode where Donald will spend the night. But he never did. I also used to think this would be the episode where they would get rescued on Gilligans Island when I watched that show. LOL What a great time 60' TV was when we only had three channels to watch.

Also, Marlo Thomas is simply gorgeous. I think I could watch her with the sound off and enjoy the show based on her radiance alone. I guess I'm getting old, because the naïveté, simplicity, and glamor on display in shows like That Girl make the past seem so much more appealing than the present.

Can you believe next week will mark the 45th anniversary of when "That Girl" first aired on ABC? As that weren't enough, it will come on the exact date it first premiered! (Thursday, September 8th)

This show was my fave as a young girl. It gave mee the incentive to move out of the small town I was born and raised in and work towards a career. I ended up in network tv production for 25 years and loved it.

@teddy821 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Having dark features or Arabic features can be different but different doesn't mean they are any less beautiful, it's just a different type of beauty. In fact, in another episode in the series, her sister Rose makes an appearance and definitely has more of an exotic look than Marlo but she is stunning. I understand you have your opinions, but it might help to be more openminded and expand your definition of beauty.

@Beorning1972 You're not getting old. Us girls still exist! I think the good girl doesn't get enough praise nowadays but another user was right. The actress, Zooey Deschanel, is a lot like That Girl in her TV show, New Girl, on FOX. You can find it on Tuesday nights. My favorite show! I think you would like it!
