REALLY?
As an actual Jew, I hear about the Holocaust all the time! The Holocaust has an effect on who most American Jews vote for. How do you think the ADL became so powerful?
The only difference, is that before the Holocaust, many European Jews had respectable jobs and skills. They knew how to read and write, many were doctors or lawyers, and many were college-educated.
Considering the fact that black slaves had over 400 years without any progress, I think they have reason to complain.

This film is what Spike Lee meant when he says what he says about Tyler Perry's shows. Specifically that tv show, the I don't really car efor anyway! I do like Why did I get married 1&2, but that's pretty much all I like from Perry. Haven't seen For Colored girls yet!

Slavery is not a black thing, or an American thing, it is a human thing. That is why black people should and will continue to talk about it.

guanjon ouch!
to add to Igloboos point.. if u consider blacks r denied the dignity of their claim that slavery in the US was unlike any other slavery in existence then u have a group of disenfranchised people left without a tru voice and not truly heard..
thas y i posted this series.. to help illuminate the DISCUSSION of what the races r doing with each other.. ur comments guan help show this tremendously.. u actually state that blacks living today r not affected yet i humbly suggest..

.. that similar to the vietnam phenom of post-traumatic-war-syndrome.. blacks have and still suffer from something labeled post-traumatic-slave-syndrome..
there is no equivalent in the planets history to the defamatory treatment endured by the black slave in the US.. entire cultures were ripped apart.. societies dissolved and associations between kin demolished. instead of just decimating the population, a systematic HATRED of black culture has permeated society.. this must be understood..

.. if ever real understanding and tru healing can take place..
slavery or indentured servitude throughout the world never had the de-humanizing effect of what happened here in the US..
the willie lynch papers provides a glimpse into what the mindset was then and i suggest lingers on in some parts of the country..
check also what tim wise describes of y white racism in the US changed the face of racism
inform.. educate.. elevate
