Two members of Fluoride Free Austin, Rae Nadler-Olenick and Linda Greene, will speak before the Austin City Council on Thursday, May 13, 2010 during the noontime Citizens Communication period.

The pair have been regularly appearing at Citizens Communication—Nadler-Olenick since October 2008 and Greene since February 2009—to educate the Council about the dangers, ineffectiveness and expense of water fluoridation. Additionally, Greene has spoken out against Dillo Dirt, the toxic sewage sludge product that the City of Austin promotes as a compost.

During their year and a half of advocacy, the Council has failed to respond to their concerns in any way (beyond instituting new rules to limit their access to the platform). One council member has stated privately that he would take action only if convinced that the anti-fluoridation movement has massive support.

Lets demonstrate that support by showing up at Austin City Council chambers at a quarter to noon this Thursday, May 13. City Hall is located on Cesar Chavez (First Street) between Guadalupe and Lavaca, and garage parking is free. @CoreyHartRules Fluoride is not used to treat the water in any way. It is used to medicate people. I am not being melodramatic or something. That's just the facts. Chlorine is used to treat water. Fluoride is intended only to treat tooth decay. What it ends up doing is poisoning people. See fluoride alert dot org.
