@caitlinjane92 This scene is a dark, awesome version of Lucy Pevensie meeting Mr. Tumnus in "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe." And I have to say this faun looks epic, Mr. Tumnus was shit..

ive never seen this movie, whos a bad guy and whos good? what are the 3 challenges??WHY is the pale man a child eater???

In the native language of the film it is called The Fauns Labyrinth, and yet we have it as Pan's Labyrinth who is a specific Faun in mythology. Did it get changed to Pan because English speaking audiences might not know what a Faun is but they are likely to know Pan? I don't see any evidence this Faun is meant to be Pan.

"vuestra, vuestro..." Cervantes is smiling.

Pretty much my favorite scene in the film.

@caitlinjane92 And far more beautiful.

The ancient faun, whom the fascists and Franco have no power over...is he all in her mind? Maybe, and maybe not.
Del Toro was influenced by a recurring nightmare he had as a child in which a faun would start to emerge from behind a cabinet in his bedroom and he would wake up frightened before the faun ever fully appeared.

"I've had so many names. Old names that only the wind and the trees can pronounce" best quote ever.

This scene where Ofelia meets Pan is like a dark version of Lucy Pevensie meeting Mr. Tumnus in "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe."
