BikeSafe is an initiative run by Police Forces around the United Kingdom who work with the whole of the biking world to help to lower the number of motorcycle rider casualties. By passing on their knowledge, skills and experience, police motorcyclists can help you become a safer more competent rider.

As police riders we ride all year round and in all weathers (except icy conditions). We believe that this helps us to hone and maintain our skill levels and is why we encourage all riders to do the same. We are lucky in this part of the UK in that our climate usually allows us to ride a motorcycle in every month of the year.

To further encourage our motorcyclists to join us we have extended our BikeSafe sessions into the winter months. The next session takes place at Devon Drivers Centre, Westpoint, nr Exeter, on Sunday 29th November 2009. This session is fully subscribed but a further winter session will be arranged early in the new year.

We will soon be publishing our 2010 BikeSafe dates. If you are interested in attending one of these sessions, which are carried out at various venues across our force area, you can leave contact details by ringing Mandy on the number below.

  • @JIMIJIM advanced training is a lot more than this as BIKESAFE is merely an assessment, not training in advanced techniques. However if you feel that you learned something from this, then why not get in touch with IAM, RoSPA or DIAmond and undertake advanced training as suggested? Any type of post-test training from a recognised scheme is well-worth doing as the techniques learned in the standard motorcycle test leaves a lot to be desired IMHO

  • Good video, i didnt know the police did this and thought advanced training was alot more. I have infact just passed and got a 600cc bike and wouldnt mind the advice.

  • 10/10 .....simpulls, dont mix speed with third parties.
