Good news for the more than 300 residents that live at the Addison Apartments on PJ Adams Parkway came in the way of a $4,829.32 check Friday special delivery to Crestview City Hall. The money was the balance of last months overdue water, sewer, and garbage bill. Crestview City Clerk Janice Young had told officials at Royal American, the Panama City company that manages the property for developers Rea Construction, that city services would cease on Monday July30 if the balance of the late bill was not paid in full. The residents water, sewer, and garbage is include in the rent they pay each month. They count on Royal American to use that money to pay for their city for the services.
The amount paid Friday included $1,093.14 in late fees from May's bill. According to the water and sewer department, the complex has been late on its water bill for three months. Young said that she hopes this will be the last time that the city has to threaten turning the water off.
