Canada is blessed to be one of only a handful of countries in the world with a PUBLICLY owned central bank. The problem is in that our government(s) lack the political will to use it properly. Instead they borrow from private banks and we the taxpayer are left to pay the compound interest on debts which will never be repaid.

@yyzforrwen Wow, what a great word choice :) "PUBLICLY owned central bank". This is a REALLY important distinction to make between different kinds of central banks, and why a publicly owned central bank can create prosperity, while a privately owned central bank creates debt. I don't think I fully understood the distinction until you summed it up so beautifully. Thank you :)

Close your bank account! That is our true power, if the banks no longer hold the money, they are out of business. Money in the bank only serves the banks, it does nothing for you, no interest, and you have to pay every time you use it. You can safely hide it in rock safes, etc..., there is much information on this on the INTERNET. If only 10% of the population close their bank accounts, its game over for the banks!!! WE HAVE THE POWER!
