Where can you join something like that and where are the event and do have to use your own armor ?

Is there any sort of battle plan/formation that was supposed to be used?

not hardley any medieval tactics used at all. idk maybe its just the field size but a battle never consisted of just ONE charge towards another "blob"

yea they should lay onthe floor when they ge killed, but then the risk of trampling people is the problem

@Skutai It does look interesting. I dont know if I would have the time nor the money for it right now though, maybe in ten years. Its like, remember when you played with wooden sticks and you wished everyone in the neighbourhood would take up arms....This is on my bucket list, even just to try once.

@steggybaby True. For those of us who are often inside these mad scrums, the experience is very different. The purpose of this perspective is to provide an overall view of the battle to those who were there and couldn't see the whole event develop.

@Skutai ah, ok. That makes more sense. Some of the stuff Ive seen does look insanely fun...and dangerous. So you were actually in this particulr battle? does it not cost a lot of money? (just out of curiosity, I have no problem with expensive hobbies)

@steggybaby Not this one. I was operating the camera. At this point I've fought in so many battles that missing one here or there is no big deal. The SCA isn't hard to get into, or particularly expensive. Of course, if you want really nice armor and so forth, the cost of doing the hobby goes way up.
