Led by P42DCs #151 and 43, Amtrak's train #51, the westbound Cardinal, arrives from Indianapolis, Cincinnati, the Virginias, Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York on Track 8. As passengers begin to alight the Cardinal, westbound train #371, the Pere Marquette, from Grand Rapids, Holland, Bangor and St Joseph, Michigan has arrived on Track 6, with NPCU #90413 leading the three Superliners and P42DC that have become standard lately for this train. Passengers stream off of the train and into the crowded south concourse. This platform is usually used by Metra trains, such as the one which has just arrived on Track 2--train #1262, a run used by many late-rush-hour commuters, who pour off the train, adding to the crowd of long-distance travellers inside the station.
