This is mainly audio but last night (5/28/10) I was honored and humbled to write and read a poem in tribute to Nikki Giovanni. Ms. Giovanni is the reason I wrote my very first poem aged 8. Her Ego-Tripping saved and changed my life. I'm beyond humbled and honored to have been able to tell her this.

Because of where my friends were sitting and the blinding lights on stage, you can barely see anything. It's mainly just audio and the echo and the acoustics in the church was insane but you can read the words on my blog:

I hope to get better footage soon and will take this down but I hope this is good.

Love someone and mean it,
B.

PS. I was so incredibly nervous that I raced through the poem and then ran off stage. It was all good until she looked at me and smiled. Then it was either cry, pass out or run away. I chose run away.
