very good voice. im assuming you knew the original key was higher, and i think you didnt want to sing it in the same key because you would have to use your falsetto, which im guessing youre not a fan of because you didnt use it. im not a big fan of falsetto either, but i think it sounds good in tasteful sections (like in this song) and it would be cool for you to rock it out in e major
