The blitter could be used to draw flat shaded 3D polygons, thus vastly improving frame rates and surpassing anything the CPU could do. So in a fashion, the Amiga could have 3D acceleration. But it was limited.

True, the amiga didnt have 3d acceleration hardware. That came in 1996 with the 3dfx Voodoo line - 9 years after the A500 came into existence.

Pc game on an Amiga...Calculate 3d object was not its strengh, bitmap was. The greatest bitmap machime of its time and maybe nowadays

The other thing I didn't like was a standard Amiga 500 just wasn't any good with polygons. Didn't have the 'scaling' chip or whatever that gave PC's such a edge with 3d games.

Actually A500 was thought at 1985/87, when 3d games didnt exist(at least, as standard). But programmers made a excellent work with games like Frontier, Epic :-), Robocop, etc.
And about chip, i know Commodored hit the street with a console, cd32, with included a scaling chip(for playing games like doom)

the battleships and fighters are looking like from battlestar galactica. sadly i never playd this game on amiga.

at it's time it was a shock for me. Even i tried recording the music on tape!! and yes, some fighter looks from galactica.Cyclops were the pilos, weren't it?

Didn't this have sampled music in the intro or was that only on the Atari ST version?
