That was Myrna Loy, not Clara Bow.... they were similar in looks and style.

Clara Bow was magnificent!...beautiful actress.
-
Her voice sounds quite like Anita Page's, actually.

She freaking rules in The Mask Of Fu Manchu. Smokin' hawt! Yeah, and rippin' evil, just the way we like 'em. Ever notice how in movies, the bad girl is ALWAYS just the slightest bit hotter than the good girl in the film?

Best actress film ever had didn't make it to the talkies. What a tragedy
-
@ToxicOdiousOne WOW! So much blatant bigotry, some talk of 'freedom'.

The young people don't realize how much of a Marilyn Monroe she was at the time. She deserved -- and enjoyed -- all of the attention she received. The problem came with technology... the advent of sound... If you look at her in her silent films, you can see a joy in the her performances that just wasn't there when the microphone arrived. What a shame that the Paramount management didn't see her as an investment... She would have done better at MGM... where they "groomed" their stars...

@Sophiieez Just go to the clarabow page

Her vulnerability & innocence were very endearing.

I hope to never hear bleeps at the cinea "to protect the children" or have nudity blurred out "to not offend Muslim sensibilities". If cinemas did that there would be outcry. There would be First Amendment and copyright challenges as there should be. We must not tolerate this modern censorship from plaguing cinema. That would be the death of cinema. Cut out the middle man.
Nothing wrong with her voice. She sounds quite good actually. I think the studio just didn't want her as a liability anymore

the scene she flubbed from Hoop-la was actually better than the one released in the film the scene in the film she has a faster pace to it - I think she tried to pick up the pace and lost her thought, BRILLIANT ACTRESS, STUNNING WOMAN
