Btw, the cover art of his Jazz Lp's on vinyl - (Previn ) represent perhaps the highwater mark of voluptuous and stunning females on album covers. Scandinavian type beauties that...( in some ways ).. transcend the music.

I know...when I 19, I went to Oscars jazz school in Toronto. He and Ray and Thigpen were there teaching too. Oscar partially studied with his sister, who was a great classical pianist. Some family!

@radiokid2 I wouldn't say "carves up" at all but he keeps up with Oscar very well. People may not realize that Peterson started out as a classically trained pianist who then switched to Jazz.

Interesting that Previn has been one of the best classical conductors and pianists in the world for decades...he almost carves up Oscar here!

This video is every bit as wonderful as when I heard it live almost 30 years ago long before everyone had a VCR. I'm grateful to find it here & experience it all again. What a high peak of musical excellence not to mention clearly a warm friendship between rival Jazz pianists. What a joy!

two greats together! andre keeps up with Oscar very well.check out andre on the albumn " double play " for some musical fireworks(with russ freeman)
