Storm Chasing Through Newcastle

This well defined storm front came through newcastle at about 11am 29 NOV. I was sitting in the car park at merewether beach and observed the front approaching the beach. The clouds came in at sea level. I proceeded to chase the storm up the road and caught it all on video. Within 2 minutes the ski had cleared up. Enjoy!

this was created probably by a surface trough to the north. Northerly winds would have been coming from the north with a southerly change or south eastlery change. The SE winds collided with the northerly winds creating it !@

There was a temp drop of about 4 degC from memory and a change in wind direction from calm offshore (NW) to gusty SE. Watching it approach i was expecting it to be a pretty chunky cold front bringing prolonged cold/unsettled weather. But as the video shows, it became sunny shortly after (within mins). The rest of the day was fine and sunny. So i guess it falls into the class of a mild S change. I wonder if anyone from the BOM can comment on this?

yer i saw the pasher bulker crash on that storm. i was standin on the nobbies break wall the waves were pikin up and at the end of the day we had to get out of the centre of there cause the waves were 18meters high and the rain started floodin king street FUCKEN CRAZY. And there was a guy goin around on a jet ski on king street too.
