After a wing clip, the poor baby is trying to get lift-off!

  • My birds can still fly with their wing clips. They cannot gain height or go long distances. This is the best for them so that they don't hit windows or get caught in a ceiling fan. I am not telling other people what they should do with their pets to keep them happy and safe...... all situations are different. For me and my lovies, a conservative clip keeps them from getting into too much trouble.

  • Actually, it is not. It is a good training aid, and keeps your bird safe if you have ceiling fans, or open windows. The #1 killer of pet birds is accidents in the home. I clip my birds wings conservativately so that they can still fly, just not gain any height. This is done by clipping only the primary feathers.

PLASE BE KIND to your BIRD and STOP wing clipping!

  • It is hard to believe what I see. Are you proud of destroying the beauty and soul of this little bird?

Make your house birdie-proof, train your birds in flying and let them be what they are: BIRDS!

  • dude I think every one needs to hop off about the wing clipping. it's obviously done with good intent. we only want to ensure the safety of our birds ... they aren't wild birds anyways.

  • Why is your bird a POOR BABY? After this pretty wing clip it should be happy to live as a cripple ^^

  • rofl! he's like "wtf? my wings don't work :( "

i have two lovebirds that are mean to me and fly away if i get close so im thinking of trimming their wings so i can tame them but im afraid ill hurt the birds, or get my eyes peaked out by their sharp beaks 0_o

  • I think it's funny that the commercial in the background says "if you've been injured, you have options". ;) Hopefully your bird isn't feeling "injured" by not being able to fly. He just might learn how to use the phone and call that number.

  • Eddie is cute!

I have clipped my birds' wings 'til they're tame and know their way around the house. My clip is only about the 1st 7 feathers on each wing. They can break their fall and actually fly downward if they want. Once they're mature, they're not as easily scared and know what a window and a mirror are.

I like your birds' names, too.

You might like the bird vids on my channel.

  • The only way wing clipping is cruel is if you cut the wings then put them outside. Inside it DOES help protect them!

  • wing clipping is not cruel at all i dont have anything aganst u if u dont want to wing clipping is like clipping ur hair if it was cruel they would be bleeding my budgie toby keeps slamming into walls cuz his wings got crooked from a flying incident so the vet said I HAVE TO clip him for his life and safety same goes for my female budgie star she bumps into walls so bad that she cracked her beak.... 3= its really sad so i have to for their safety and training...
