What you are saying is absolutely true, and even myself as a Gay teenager I use the word gay as something thats negative. Ive been getting myself out of the habit but this video made me want to stop even more. Great Video

Wow, ya'll need to shut the hell up and get of Pat's back. So what if he's fighting about something that may never change? Does that mean he can't voice his, and many others' opinion? I agree 100 percent. The only reason anyone ever puts down or insults other groups is that they actually don't like or love themselves. So they insult other groups in an attempt to feel better about themselves. It's usually an unconscious ego based behavior that doesn't work. They still feel crappy afterwards. The message is my life sucks but at least I'm not gay. BUT NEWS FLASH, gay guys are all around and make for much better company than boring straight guys worried about trying to fit in.

Even if you are not saying something with malicious intent it can still hurt people. Casual homophobia is no less insidious and dangerous than casual sexism or racism. You steadily build up a tolerance to it until you become as bad as a hateful racist because you don't see it as a bad thing, and will stand by and let persecution happen, like what happened in Nazi Germany, when lots of normal people stood by and watched atrocities

the term "gay" was originally used to mean "carefree" or "happy". homesexuals started calling themselves "gay." so you can't really get mad at someone for saying something that has an original meaning beside what you branded yourself.

say, for instance, we use the word "cool" to describe something in a positive way. then all of a sudden, my group of homosexual friends starts calling themselves "cool" in reference to their sexuality. they can't get mad at me for saying things are "cool"
