  • 70 kt gusts of BullShit!

Ive been out with my H16 in steady 35kt wind, flying only a reefed mainsail, stayed out for 30 minutes and got the hell off the lake.

  • 70 knots gusts... Sure... In that wind you don't need sails, and using them is a nice and fast way to suicide.

  • 70 knots sounds like quite a bit of a exaggeration..

  • hcav, remember the nationals where it all went to crap on your beach??? I bogged the fergy and it sank.... That was funny :)

  • An oldie but a goodie! One of the crew was just wearing jeans and a spray jacket!!

Its a shame they dont allow races in big winds any more. I love sailing in this kind of stuff and usually go out when my yacht club cancels races. Once you get above 30 knots the technique to handle the gusts dosent change that much. Its the wave action that usually gets you into trouble.

  • OH YEAH!!!! im ready to go in 5 minutes i will go sailing with H16 after watching this video
