Using wireless technology to link a road train, in which a lead truck controls a convoy of vehicles driving behind it, is already technically feasible. The technology, which can enhance traffic safety, was demonstrated at the conclusion of the SARTRE project, which Volvo Trucks participated in.

Interesting, how does the lead truck change lanes? Or does he stay in lane, because in America vehicles coming onto the highway via a ramp are SUPPOSE to yield to highway traffic... of course Americans usually forget what they where taught during drivers ed.

If the lead truck needs to change lanes the following vehicles will follow it. Imagine if the lead truck was leaving a trail of bread crumbs the following cars would follow this trail.
The direction indicators on all vehicles in the road train are remotely activated from the lead truck.
