A day before public schools re-open for the crucial third time, teachers maintain that their planned strike is on. The Kenya National Union of Teachers and the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers, KUPPET say the nationwide strike planned for Monday will go on as planned, unless the government hires more teachers to ease the current shortage. The unions say more than five billion shillings had been allocated for the recruitment exercise, but the money was instead redirected to other activities. Andrew Ochieng with the details.
