Feedback appreciated. This is a little song I wrote on my banjo. You may recognize the opening and closing riff, it's cripple creek. My grandfather tried to played banjo and that was his favorite song. I say tried because his success was minimal. He always said he was able to get up cripple creek but couldn't ever get back down. He passed away about a year ago so this was a song for him.
Lyrics
Old man cripple creek
Headed up the ridges peak
Hope you get where you're wanting to
Well the way is long and you must be strong
Not let others steer you wrong
To get you where your wanting to
Well big Ronnie will standing there
Smilin' wide with slick back hair
Waiting at the ridges peak for you
And Beula will remember you
Have some home-cooked food for two
Waiting at the ridges peak for you
Now don't you worry about us hear
We'll be fine and we'll be near
When it's our turn we'll join you some fine day
But until that day wish us well
we'll keep in touch and write you mail
Until we meet at the ridges peak some day
I like the laid back feeling, but i guess i still would have broken my rocking chair through rocking to hard, if i had one.
Reminds me: I added a footstomp. Rhythmic noises from a chair would have done the same trick. For me. For the picture this evoked...
